We think you’re beautiful. Without a drop of makeup on, you are absolutely gorgeous. However, if you like getting cosmetic support to look and feel beautiful, we judge you not! Part of being a confident woman means having the freedom to love the way you look au natural, and also having the freedom to get cosmetic care, if you want it. You should love how you look, no matter how you choose to look, and we support you in that regard!

If you choose to partake in cosmetic procedures to support your beautiful self, we’ve put together an overview of the non-invasive ones that you might not know about:

  1. CoolSculpting

Sometimes, no matter how hard you work out or how strict you are with your diet, you just can’t seem to lose that stubborn fat. You go to the gym faithfully every night after working a grueling schedule. You feel guilty if you add more than two croutons to your pitiful salad at lunch. Yet, you step on the scale only to see the same dang number you saw last week and the week before. Something’s gotta give!

If we’re describing you, you might be excited to hear about CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting is the only cosmetic procedure that is cleared by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) for freezing off fat.

How it works: The stubborn fat cells on your abdomen, love handles, or thighs are targeted with a freezing wand while you relax and watch a movie, read a book, or post selfies on Instagram with the hashtag #nofilter. Once the cells are frozen, they die and your body naturally eliminates them through your urine. The result is a naturally slimmer appearance that has people asking, “What’s your secret?”

How much does it cost? Depending on the area, you’re looking at a bill of $600 to $1,200 for your CoolSculpting sesh.

  2. Botox

As you age, the muscles in your face begin to contract, and the skin above those muscles fold into the contraction. This causes what we know as wrinkles. Having wrinkles can make a person feel insecure about their appearance. Treatments like ultherapy and hormone replacement therapy might delay the contraction of wrinkles, but once they develop, they are there to stay.

If your wrinkles make you feel less than beautiful when you look in the mirror, you might be interested in Botox treatments. Botox is offered by many home health care professionals offer it. If you feel intimidated by getting a cosmetic procedure, having it done in the comfort of your own home might put your mind at ease.

How it works: Botox is a chemical that causes the muscles in the face to freeze, so they are unable to contract and cause a wrinkle to form on the surface. Many doctors administer Botox in the areas that are the most prone to wrinkles, such as the frown lines on the forehead, the crease you get between your eyebrows from squinting, and the laugh lines around the eyes.

How much does it cost? Botox will set you back around $200 to $400 per area, and lasts about three to six months.

  3. Chemical Peels

Your face has five layers of skin on the surface (the epidermis) and three layers of skin below that (the dermis). The brand new skin starts on the bottom layer of the dermis, and as the outer layers of your skin die and flake off, it makes its way to the surface. Since the layer of skin that is visible is the oldest, it is the most likely to have sun damage, discoloration and imperfections. When you feel uncomfortable in your own skin, you might be pleasantly surprised by the results you can achieve with a chemical peel.

How it works: A chemical peel removes the outer layers of skin, to reveal the young and glowing skin underneath. The intensity of the peel itself determines how many layers of skin are removed through the process, with the deeper chemical peels having the greatest and longest-lasting results. You can get a chemical peel that removes the surface levels of skin from your local spa, which will last for several weeks. You can also get deeper chemical peels that remove the epidermis altogether and last for much longer at a medical facility.
